Focus Group compication

One of the complication that occur in the focus group was the age gap of the volunteers that attended the grouping, many of the student was between the age of 16-18, even though that’s my target audience, initially I was aiming to target a wider audience of student and teacher, the input that the teacher would have been add would help me to understand an adult perspective of my key topic and other input about their interest.

or

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41XfxWTrpK8

I this focus group my aim was to get an audience feed back onthe planning of my news program. I ask the audience about what they think about my brand identity and how effect is my brand identity to meet my target audience.

Some of the ffed back i got was to create a brand identity that show the multi cultuality of stoke newington school with a range of different iconic image and colour representation.

  • In my AS I was able to keep track of my course work by blogging my work onto blogger.com. By blogging my work I was able to type up my work onto the website, this enable me to get access to my work from anywhere in the world through the internet access. I will then transfer the blogging system in myA2 to make sure that I am able to access and complete my work from home with using computer program and then e-mailing my work to myself or storing it on a memory stick that can be lost or stolen.

  • In my AS moving image I was given the task of creating my own story for my film, in doing so I then had to write my own script and planning, I will then be transferring the skills of writing a storyboard, script, screen play, call sheet and other planning and the use it in my A2 media production.

  • In my AS media I designed my own outfit, I will then be transferring my designing skill to chose an outfit that match what’s used in the BBC news.

Post-production

Post-production

  • After researching different camera effect, I was then able to incorporate the editing skills that like how to green screen and then transfer this skill into my post-production. In my A2 I will use the skill that I have learnt to use unique and better quality edit.

  • In my AS moving image class I have also used final cut pro to create a film for my final production, to the planning to create my final production I have done several production exercise with editing skill that I have researched, an example of a editing skill that I have learn would be the cloning effect and other editing effect that I didn’t used but researched. The research have gave me more knowledge and experience with using final cut pro, I will then be transferring the skills and knowledge that I have gain and using it into my A2 production.

  • During my AS media , one of the most difficult post-production skill I faced was to add sound to match the video clip, over time I was able to overcome this obstacle with experience, in my A2 I will then used this experience that I have learn to create a higher quality production.

focus group successes

Successes

The focus group in generally was a big success because it contradicts my what I thought it was going to turn out to be. I was able to get a group of student age 16-18 all taking about different topic. I was able to ask them some question on my three main headlines and was able to allow them to suggest one extra headline that would me good to include in my news program.

There was a lot of good feed back on the topic that I didn’t ask them but they decide to tell me how to improve the topic and also on topic that can be added to my news program to improve it.

Convention Of Local News Text

The convention of a local news program opening title consists of iconic images of the area of the local along with architecture build and famous land marks. There are also uses of Fast tempo music to excite the viewer, unobtrusive camera movement to create a casual atmosphere rather than a formalistic classic camera angle and shots local news programme then to move a little bit out of the conventional use of camera shot.

Also there are use of colour to represent the brand identity and to the news programme a structure colour coordination, in this case the colour red and white is used in the BBC London news to symbolise the English flag, this shows that the programme is aimed at Londoners because along with the colours there are also use of iconic building such as the big Ben and the London eye.

The presenters of a local news program tend to be within a certain age group. For instance, female presenter tended to be between the ages 30-40, this is manly done to attract the audience through their beauty and sophistication. While male tended to be from age 40+, this is used to attract audience through the use of their maturity and also a sense of sophistication.

But overall both gender speak Standard English, this is use to allow as much people as possible be able to understand them.

The way in which the presenters and the reporters dresses is show to have a bit of a casual dressing which it was a national news program they would be dress formally. For example in the national news the presenter would have worn a full suit, this include a blazer, t-shirt and trousers, while in the local news they are allow to wear a jumper, t-shirt and trousers.

For the mise-en-scene aspect of a local news program it use some or most of the same thing as a nation news with own exception, in the BBC London news the viewers are able to see the radio room behind the anchors where all the information is being processed, this show the views that the news program is continuously processing information to broadcast to the public.

The local news program use of music tend to use orchestral, instrumental and electronic music to modernize the news program as the sounds and music has changed over the various years. Because the BBC also use Tax payers money that also create a limitation of music that can be used which reflect how the show is broadcasted.
